NVF celebrates five new scholars for 2023/24 school-year
The Nixon Visions Foundation celebrated the five recipients of its 2023/24 scholarship awards at The San Diego Foundation Community Scholarship Celebration on July 10, 2023. Brandon and Janine Nixon attended the breakfast social which honored hundreds of students receiving awards through SDF’s wide-ranging community scholarship program, made possible by 146 unique charitable funds. We are proud to celebrate our third year participating in this extraordinary program which awarded a record-breaking $4 million in scholarships this year.
We were honored to meet in-person three of our scholars: KristiLynn Effie (UC San Diego), Sonya Villarreal (University of South Carolina) and Mariam Abdu (UCSD). In addition, Zuhal Hamkar (San Diego Mesa College) and Hanna Molina (UC Riverside) received NVF scholarships for the upcoming school year. All five scholarships will be renewed annually until the completion of the student’s degrees.
We are so proud of our scholars and we look forward to watching their progress as they pursue their educational and career dreams.
